Jimmy Clausen Cited

Jimmy Clausen, the University of Notre Dame freshman quarterback, received a citation for transporting alcohol as a minor.  What exactly did JC do?

It seems as if young Mr. Clausen provided a ride to liquor store for a 23 year old recent ND graduate, and remained parked outside in his Chevy Tahoe.  Jimmy did not attempt to purchase liquor, nor was he seen consuming it.  He was caught in an undercover operation attempting to catch minors trying to buy alcohol, according to an article in the  South Bend Tribuine.

My first observation was that there was some kind of party going on!  Two 1.75-liter bottles of vodka, a 200-milliliter bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey, and a 30 pack of beer.  If one is going to spend about $60 for the goods, can't an extra $5 be afforded for a beer of a slightly better quality?

Unfortunately drinking is just as much a part of college life as The Student Bookstore.  Not an issue of who drinks, but rather who does so responsibly, and who doesn't.

As the incident occurred on 6/23/07, and the diversion agreement signed on 7/11/07, by definition this is not news.  As what used to be the case at PSU "back in the day," it seems to have all been taken care of in house, and put behind ND Football.

Today at PSU, incidents are in the newspaper 5 hours after its occurrence.  Well, only if it involves football players.  Are we to believe that State College is simply more media savvy than South Bend, or are there truly other motives in play at PSU?  I'm not a conspiracy theory guy, but it certainly makes me wonder!

This was swept under the rug for two months by Weis. What a POS the man is. He puts on the Holier then Thou act, acts like ND is above everyone, and then goes and hides the story when the name player in his program is caught doing something illegal. What a joke.
