One Question: Purdue

PSU secondary has struggled, now pass happy Purdue invades Happy Valley for an matchup that will go a long way in deciding whether Lions get a New Years Day Bowl. There is no doubt that PSU staff will attempt to keep Purdue offense off the field by running the ball and controlling clock. Question: Does PSU hold Purdue QB Curtis Painter, to under 350 yards passing?

I think you are asking the wrong question. Our history against teams that run this type of offense is that we win the game despite giving up a lot of passing yardage. I think he will throw for very close to 350 yards +/- 50 yards, but PSU will still win by more than a touchdown.

PIV, you already broke the cipher...pass, pass, give (a question).
My question - will fans actually attempt the "Code Red" to send a message to the administration regarding their disdain for the current coaching situation?

I don't necessarily think the students should lead such a charge. Instead, it's the season ticket holders and NLC members and alumni that should be sending that message. Will they actually do it? Doubtful. It took speially printed tickets to ensure that fans (other than students)wore white to the ND game. If it's the least bit cold, you'll only have a sea of Real Tree and blaze orange.
Is a healthy AJ Wallace or Knowledge Timmons better than an injured Justin King?

No. Not many fans know about the Code Red. This is a great idea to start the 2008 season if JoePa is awarded an extension.
How ill the fans react when Anthony Morelli's name is announced for senior day?
(I hope he would get a nice applause but I do worry).

I will bet there are small (around 100) group of fans who do the code red nonsense. None of the students will do so as they will be hung over and don't care about 12P games.
Do the corners stepup and does Bradley make changes to help them succeed?

I think it is both. Bradley has been pretty indotrinated with the JoePa mantra and he has been quoted as saying that it is a bend dont break defense and 4 FGs are still less than 2 TDs so both are to blame.
Question: Will PSU game plan for Dorien Bryant?

Yes we will cover him with Justin King.
Will the corners play closer to the line this week, say 8 yards instead of the normal 12 to 15?

If you listened to Bradley after the game you'd have to be convinced that he'll tighten up the coverages at least a little, maybe even to play at the sticks on 3rd and middle distance situations instead of 8-10 yards deep.
I saw in Joe's PC that he wants us to yet again give Ohio State credit for being a good football team. I'm frankly sick and tired of giving the other guy some credit. My question is, will we ever see another Joe Paterno coached football team that just goes out there and kicks the other team's ears in no matter how good they are and how much credit they deserve? how about this weekend?

No, we will never again kick in the ears of a good team under Joe Paterno. He coaches scared.
Will the returning QB's expected to guide next year's squad see any meaningful reps or will we have our tailor-made excuse for next year's shortcomings?

We won't see Clark or Devlin until Temple and I'm not counting on seeing much of either even then. Doubt that we'll see either up in East Lansing.
Will PSU take a page out of the Buckeyes' playbook this week and run a fair number of short to intermediate TE/WR drag or crossing routes across the middle that consistently worked so effectively against us?

you hit the nail on the head there OSU destroyed us with that play... on that note when have you ever seen penn state utilize something that we see other teams use with good success ala the spread against Michigan.
My question why is nobody giving Connor the same kind of hype Poz got when he was about to break the all-time tackle record??
Reply to this
There was a St. Paul, but not a St. Dan. Obviously Connor has made a mistake or two during his time at PSU, but perhaps it is because Poz was a visable leader, something that Dan is not.
I certainly hope not, but will Morelli be booed on Sr. Day?

I think there will be scattered boos for AM when he is introduced but most of the fans will be gracious (maybe cheering because he's leaving).
How many posters will remind us about how stupid the coaches were for burning AM's redshirt, costing PSU his leadership next year?

Is this season over yet? we have to watch more horrible tackling, terrible schemes, a conservative passing game that only uses the sidelines, perhaps another overthrown screen pass by 30 yards, TB and QB fumbles.. unreal.
I can take all of that I guess, just so I don't see another interview where Pappy totally embarrasses himself and the University.

OMG.. How much embarrassment can you put up with Curley? Sue? Somebody keep the old man from showing up at the next game, for his own good. This old man is senile, can barely put a sentence together, and some people wonder why there's kids in 6th grade that never saw PSU beat Michigan?? Or why we have lost so many recruits lately? There is a reason 80 year old Grandpaps aren't supposed to be head coaches. PATHETIC.
you have got to be kidding me. This program is in much worse shape than I even thought. Peretta and Ruben are absolutely horrific. We don't have anyone who can beat out the for 2nd string? Next week he'll be returning punts and running reverses. amazing, just amazing.
Good news is we play temple, look for an 8-4 year, get your tix to the toilet bowl.
