One Question: Temple

Previously a perennial bottom 5 program, Temple has found new new hop under the leadership of Al Golden. In past seasons, only question was whether Owls would finish season with a win. This year's squad is 3-6, which might be unremarkable for most, but is quite an accomplishment considering Temple was 1-22 combined in 2005 and 2006. PSU should have their way with Temple, in spite of it being a road game. The Lions hold an advantage at virtually every position on the field, so game could get ugly in a hurry.
Question: Will PSU staff play ultra-conservatively, so as to keep one of their own (Golden) from being embarrassed, or open things up in a tune-up for Michigan St.?

I think they play ultra-conservatively with maybe 20 passes total all game.
Question: Do we see alot of Colsanti, Wiz, and any other Freshmen or Redshirt Freshmen this game, not matter the score---just for game snaps?

Joe will get Clark in for a series and next year he'll say (as usual), "We probably should have done a better job of getting Clark some game reps." A year or two after that we'll hear he should have done a better job of getting Devlin game reps. The more things change...
Question: Does Temple have a quarterback now that Adam DiMichele is done for the year?

with temple almost beating UCONN-- ref's screwed them on the last TD play.

The team who has had the better season this far is obviously us but if you are asking about which coaching staff has had a better season I think its just as obvious of an answer that temple's staff has had the much better season. I mean 1 win in two years into three wins thus far this year is really quite impressive.
So here is my question Dwill (or as many of you have started calling him Dwont) had his best game in a penn state uniform last weekend and is going up against some severly less talented players... does he keep the 'wheels' rolling with another solid/impressive performance or will he dissapear again with a 2 catch 15 yard performance???

I think DWill will have a good day, maybe even another punt return for a TD, but nothing like last week. They will spread the few passes out more evenly. I expect to see Butler and Bell to have very good games.
Will Maurice Evans have more than 3 sacks in this game?

I will, especially if Clark/Devlin are given the opportunity to throw some intermediate passes and run a not-so-scaled-down offense (you can actually do that without running up the score, fwiw). If JVP resorts to running plays up the gut, I'll be snoozing along with most everyone else.
What kind of coverage scheme should we expect to see from the PSU secondary? The old loose as a goose approach that's been a staple of the D, ratcheted up a few notches from the norm, or more aggressive than "a few notches up?"

Coverage I would expect to be as plain vanilla as possible...3 or 4 man rush and softy zone.
With a bland 3 yds and a cloud of dust attitude for this game (presumably) does Royster get a chance at another 100-yd game?

Temple will have rushing yards, but since the NCAA counts yards lost on sacks against team rushing stats, the total will be under 25.
Are you hoping that this is Joe's last game as a coach in Pennsylvania?

I'm not hoping it is Coach Paterno's last game in PA. That would mean that he goes out without being sent off properly by the home crowd. He deserves better, and is entitled to his day at the Beav'. It would be a great tribute to name the Stadium after him, while he is still on the sideline.
Who has more tackles this game, Connor or Lee?

Our DL consumes the Temple OL, allowing Connor to have a field day (half). My hope is that the leading tacklers are Colasanti, Bowmann, TMac, and Honest Abe. That would tell us something.
Is this the game that Wiz asserts himself as the #1 right guard, or does JoePa continue his 3 man rotation?

Paterno continues his 3 man rotation and Shaw starts. However, if it is 31-0 at half (like last year, but unlikely), Wiz plays entire 2nd half.
Does Royster get as many carries as Kinlaw in the 1st half?

Kinlaw starts and gets bulk of carries in first 2 drives, and the outcome of that depends on who has most carries - PSU takes big lead, it is Royster's day, but if it is close, the carries will be split

Well I believe it would depend on who is getting the snaps if were Clark or Devlin he should get a lot of throws b/c he will be the primary threat in the future, if it is mor(on)elli he will get stared down before being thrown one ball into quad coverage...
How will Quarless do this game, stud or false start dud (again)?

For some reason, I see Mickey Shuler getting the starting nod. This whole "doghouse" thing is getting out of hand. The false starts were blatant mental lapses last week but AQ is a playmaker that needs to see the field. Hopefully, Clark/Devlin will also have a little more vision to get him the ball instead of staring down a primary receiver!
Not to put the kaibosh (sp?) on this piece, but is a game against Temple really worth this much discussion?
