Congrats to Dan Connor--Butkus Finalist

I think Lee has a better chance to win next year, than Connor does this season.

The only way conner, would be able to leapfrog laurnitis is if he made some huge plays agaisnt good teams, other then the interception agasint OSU, he hasnt made any highlight reel plays that stick in people's minds. He makes all the right plays but hasnt made enough exciting one's to leap over laurnitis and his 1# ranking, plus with temple and MSU left, there is little if almost no National covearge for Conner, 99% of the country wont even be able to watch the temple game--on ESPNU only.

The awards are a joke. Any defensive award that doesn't include Sean Lee is a joke.
James Laurinitis would at best be the 3rd best LB on PSU's team, and he's not even the best LB on OSU's. He can thank Brent Musberger for every award he wins.
Laurinitis is so overrated it's not even funny.

whoever said that JL can thank Musberger for any awards he gets, has to say the same exact thing about PoZ. Musberger was on his nuts for two seasons straight (im not saying he didnt deserve the awards just you gotta look at it both ways). But anyways Connor can defintely win this award this year just like PoZ against Hawk, Connor completely outplayed JL in there head to head.

This year's Butkus will be a "make up call" for 2005. Lauren Itis will win it only because Hawk didn't.

OSU's loss yesterday will hopefully reduce the liklihood of voting for the best defensive player on number one team in the country. My prediction is that Connor takes home the hardware this year, and Laurinitas and Sean Lee fight it out next year.
