Penn State Positional Statistical Predictions for 2009 - Offense
We at Laschout.com thought it would be entertaining to go through the 2009 Penn State projected starters (and a few key reserves) and predict each players performance for the upcoming season. We will start with the offensive players then follow with the defense.

If we only get 2200 yards 20TD 15INT out of our Passing game, we're in trouble.
I'm guessing based on Clarks numbers it's expected that he'll get hurt...if he doesn't, 900 yards passing is less than 100 per game, and IMHO that's a recipe for a 7-5 season.
Agreed. +5 TD to INT is not good. We should be at least +4 vs. Coastal Carolina.
I'd go slightly lower on Devlin's yardage.
slightly lower on DWill's numbers.
higher on Moye's numbers
higher on Shuler's numbers
higher on both Royster's and Green's numbers
Will Zordich really play FB this year? No redshirt? No LB?
Stern, I admire you for putting yourself on the line with these predictions. If you come within 10% on any one of these, the beer is on me.
I'm getting roughly 2785 yards receiving by tallying the WR/TE/FB numbers above. Is Cianciolo racking up 585 yards??? Other than that it was a fun read!
You forgot all the passing yardage that DWill is going to get for that trick play that's been working wonders. That's the one where the QB lines up as a WR?
We didn't have all the numbers exactly match up because everything here is a guess based on opinions. Cianciolo likely will get some passing yards (but not many). The totals obviously will be different but we tried to "ballpark" where we thought player would end up.
Once again proving that "We" don't have a clue.
Umm...isn't it 2008?
dont derrick williams/norwood/butler all run out of eligibility after this year. i have no clue how they will be this productive in the nfl...
nearly 2600 yards rushing? wow.
that breaks down to 200 yards per game if you include a bowl game. more if you do not.
We had 2500 on the ground last year and 2700 in the air. Navy led the nation with 4534 or 348/game
200 yards a game rushing in college should be the norm.
given those passing numbers, it's a real concern that this offense is going to struggle. I don't think Clark comes anywhere near 650 yards rushing however.
200 per game is hardly the norm...Out of 119 D1 programs only 23 averaged more than 2oo
Robinson ran for 800 and passed for 2300 in 05" He was also runner up in the Heisman.
I'll also be surprised if they burn Zordich's RS and in order to play him a few snaps at FB. Let me add my additional surprise that the TE position will get that much action, especially from Sczerba.
99.9% chance Zordich plays this year.
Who else plays FB?
Tom Golarz
A week and half left until Gameday and still no practice reports or inside info from Laschout. What happened did your sources dry up?
